According to the International Spa Association, men now make up nearly a third of all spa goers. And there are several spas that cater to their male clientele.
One example is Willow Steam Spa at the Faimont Scottsdale Princess. This spa features a treatment room where men can watch television and read newspapers and business magazines while getting worked on.
The Mec Barber Spa, a men-only spa and salon in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, also has flat-screen televisions and they go as far to offer their guests Heineken. Their techniques are modified to be more effective on thicker skin, tenser muscles and masculine features.
There are even men-only spas like Nickel Spa for Men in Manhattan. This 4,500-square-foot establishment is a sanctuary where men can enjoy a full day of relaxation. The spa has eight treatment rooms, a napping room, a nail room, and a large reception area. It is also designed as a submarine with chrome walls, cobalt lighting, and a glass interior. And the U.S. isn’t the only country that offers this men-only luxury. Germany’s first men-only spa is located in Munich and offers everything from a 45 minute treatment up to an extensive five hour treatment! The spa also has a service in which a limo picks you up from work and brings you to the spa. Once at the spa, there are plenty of flat screens with the latest business news.
