GB Spa at the Grande Bretagne Hotel in Athens, Greece

Some spas are so decadent that you can’t wait to visit them, even though you’re not scheduled for a treatment. One such spa is GB at the historic 130-year-old Grande Bretagne Hotel in the city center of Athens, Greece. Upon entering the spa you are welcomed by a large, white marble indoor pool with a strikingly modern architectural sculpture hanging overhead. After a swim, you can enjoy several thermal suites complete with laconiun, sauna and herbal steam. The amethyst grotto was an incredibly interesting experience, boasting deep shimmering tiles, wonderful scents and warm dry heat. This could be followed by a  session in the herbal sauna with scents of sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, bay, lavender, and chamomile. Foot spas were another joy, and allowed one to sit down and immerse their feet in a mini whirlpool spa. And lastly before heading out rinse off in a powerful shower with plenty of body jets and rain tiles. This beautiful spa is a true haven for escaping the hustle and bustle of Athens. It is certain to provide a transcendental experience dedicated to pampering and restoration.
